How we handle your information - straight up, no corporate jargon
Last updated: October 20, 2025
Look, we're architects, not data miners. When you reach out to us about a project or just browse our site, we collect some basic info - but we're not gonna sell it or do anything sketchy with it. That's not how we roll.
Running an architecture studio means we need certain details to do our job properly. If you're asking us to design your space, yeah, we'll need your contact info and project specifics. Pretty standard stuff, really.
When you fill out our contact form or email us, we get your name, email, phone number, and whatever you tell us about your project. We keep this info to respond to you and potentially work together down the line.
Like most sites these days, we use analytics tools to see how people use our website. This helps us figure out what's working and what needs fixing. It's anonymous stuff - we're not tracking individual users around the internet.
If we're working on a project together, we'll collect technical requirements, site details, budget info - all the practical stuff we need to design something that actually works for you.
We don't sell or rent your info to anyone - that's a hard line for us. But there are a few situations where we might share it:
Project Partners: If we're collaborating with engineers, contractors, or consultants on your project, we'll share relevant details with them. Can't build much without teamwork.
Legal Requirements: If the law says we gotta hand over information (like for permits or court orders), we'll comply. Not much choice there.
Service Providers: We use some third-party tools for hosting, email, and analytics. They might see data, but they're contractually bound to keep it secure.
We take reasonable precautions to protect your data. Our systems use standard security measures - encrypted connections, secure servers, limited access. Nothing's 100% bulletproof (anyone who tells you otherwise is lying), but we do our part.
Physical documents are kept locked up in our Vancouver office. Digital files are backed up and protected. We're careful about who on our team can access what information.
This is your data we're talking about. Under Canadian privacy laws (we follow PIPEDA), you've got rights:
Ask what info we have about you
Request corrections if something's wrong
Withdraw consent for certain uses
Ask us to delete your data (within legal limits)
Just shoot us an email at info@duskvalorforge.info and we'll sort it out. Usually takes us a few days to handle these requests.
Yeah, we use cookies. Not the chocolate chip kind, unfortunately. These are small files that help our website work properly and remember your preferences.
Most browsers let you control cookies through their settings. You can block them if you want, though some parts of our site might not work as smoothly.
We're not doing anything creepy here - just basic functionality and anonymous analytics to make the site better.
We keep your information as long as it's needed for the purpose we collected it, or as long as the law requires.
For active projects, that means during the project and for several years after (we need records for warranty and liability purposes). For general inquiries, we might keep your info for a couple years in case you decide to work with us later.
Once we don't need it anymore and there's no legal reason to keep it, we delete or anonymize it.
Privacy laws change, our practices evolve, so we might update this policy from time to time. When we do, we'll update the date at the top and post the new version here.
For major changes, we'll try to give you a heads up if we have your contact info. But it's worth checking back here occasionally if you're curious.
If something here doesn't make sense, or you've got concerns about how we handle your data, just reach out. We're happy to explain things in more detail.
